A New Year’s Eve Feast

A New Year’s Eve Feast

Of course, we have to end 2012 and start 2013 with an amazing feast for the stomach and the eyes!  Food to me is a symbol of a life well-lived.  The Hashem ladies have outdone themselves.  We started with hors d’oeuvres: pastries of feta cheese and caramelized onions and spinach balls.

Then we moved on to the entrees.  First up is ‘Samakeh Harrah’, Tilapia fish with walnut, pomegranate, and pine nut sauce.  This dish is amazing and is usually made for special occasions.

Then of course my favorite ‘Imam’, a grilled eggplant dish covered with grilled meat, pine nuts and tomatoes.

And no feast is complete without a Moroccan Cos Cos.  This one is a chicken and 7-vegetable Cos Cos.

We ate through the night until midnight rolled around when we welcomed the new year! Happy 2013!!
